The Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service is primarily devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of corneal diseases, cataracts and laser vision correction. The latest techniques and state of the art equipments are used to perform microincision sutureless cataract surgery, both lamellar and penetrating keratoplasty, and anterior segment reconstruction.
The most up-to-date technology is used to treat refractive disorders such as myopia (nearsightedness) hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. Treatment evaluation by corneal topography and corneal pachymetry is routinely done; LASIK, PRK and PTK are performed using the newly developed high frequency rate laser.
Specialized contact lens fitting is available. Corneal transplantation and anterior segment reconstruction are routinely performed.
